Kliper vs ScreenPal: record, edit and keep a reusable project

Make tutorial videos in Kliper with local captions, clip editing, separate Windows audio and portable projects. Try recording and editing free.

Kliper gives you a local recording and editing workflow for tutorials, walkthroughs and support videos. Cut the recording, add readable captions, adjust sound, and save an MP4 on your computer.

Keep the .kliper project when the video will need updates. You can reopen the edit, replace a section, and make the next version with its layers and audio still available.

Why choose Kliper for tutorials you will revise

Use one Studio timeline to combine videos, remove pauses, position text and cover private details. Mouse handles make it possible to place and resize text or images in the picture; imported image layers require Pro.

For new full-screen recordings with saved pointer data, generate editable focus zooms and click highlights. On Windows, balance the recorded microphone and computer sound separately. Preview the changes, then export a new copy.

Generate and correct captions on your computer

Kliper's optional speech tools turn the edited audio into a transcript locally after setup. Review the words, split or merge cues, and adjust their timing. Recognition is a draft to check, especially for names and numbers.

Windows setup downloads the tools and model; Mac setup uses an installed whisper.cpp CLI. You can insert up to 100 cues within the project's 120-layer limit, or save the full SRT for a longer transcript. See the caption guide for setup and editing steps.
